I have always loved the story of James. For one, probably because, I can somehow relate to his life. And much like James, I too have found a way to sneak out of the real world. As a kid, drawing, playing, and reading books, became my escape. My imagination transported me to a world only I have an access to. A world where my gift of art was honed. Since then, art has become my comfort zone and constant companion. Up to now, it is.
And for my contest entry, I captured a few of my toys, books, and dollhouse miniatures* to show you a piece of my "Houdini act". Friends, welcome to my mini big world...
Tina
*The handmade dollhouse miniatures you see in the picture were sculpted by me. Should you want to see them up close, just visit my gallery. Thanks.
Hey! I was wondering if that miss spider and that miss ladybug were for sale... I've been looking all over for those figurines and I found all of them except those two.
This is a beautiful photograph which i think should have made it at least to the finalists.
i thought of entering that contest but: a) did not have time to create a good piece at that moment, and b) i don't have much faith in contests, many times the winners aren't as good as some of the other pieces. But still i think contests are fun, so i might participate some day in one.
This photo is beautiful. So warm and so alive! i don't know how you do it
tedious, really? i actually "play" with toys (setting them up, etc) very, very little. should do it more frequently. but seems like setting them up and making dioramas would be something quite fun. maybe even recreating scenes from the movie, which would be cool considering that the movie was basically figures being set in a miniature environment.
i tried doing stop motion once, a very rudimentary tiny short video. fun but exhausting. so i think i get what you mean by tedious
i don't know how henry selick does it, 4 years or more for each movie.
Nice work on that too!
